Rainbow Living was delighted to celebrate receiving The King's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and often described as the equivalent of an MBE for voluntary organisations.
The celebration was a wonderful opportunity to recognise the dedication, kindness, and commitment of the volunteers who have supported Rainbow Living over the years. Their contribution has helped create opportunities, friendships, and lasting memories for the people who live in our homes. From fundraising and events to practical support and sharing professional expertise, our volunteers play an invaluable role in helping Rainbow Living thrive.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended the ceremony and helped make the occasion so special. In particular, we were honoured to welcome the Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants, whose presence made the event even more memorable. Their support and recognition of the work of Rainbow Living and its volunteers means a great deal to our charity.
The award belongs to every volunteer who has given their time, energy, and enthusiasm to support our mission. Whether you have volunteered for many years or helped with a single event, you have made a difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities across Devon.
As we celebrate this remarkable achievement, we also look ahead to the future with gratitude and pride. Thank you to all our volunteers, trustees, tenants, families, supporters, and partners who have helped make Rainbow Living the organisation it is today.
