Coronavirus Bill

Rainbow Living share the concerns about the implications of the Coronavirus Bill on the rights of vulnerable groups, including disabled people - we are concerned that the Bill could suspend the Care Act, effectively freeing local authorities from providing social care and could leave thousands of disabled people without support.

Please can we ask you to write to your MP URGENTLY as the second reading of the Bill is today (Monday 23 March), with the third reading likely to take place on Wednesday 25 March so it is really important that you act today or as soon as possible; you can find out more here and there’s also links to how to write quickly and easily to your MP https://www.inclusionlondon.org.uk/…/coronavirus-bill-coul…/.

You may also find it helpful to read a letter Learning Disability England has sent to the Government, which outlines concerns about the Care Act being suspended https://www.learningdisabilityengland.org.uk/…/the-corona…/…. Thank you so much for your support in this, we will keep you updated.
